February 1st & 2nd -Craft Workshops
On this weekend, we will be offering different artisans to guide you through the
construction of various hand made crafts such as basket weaving, wood carving and
wood burning. Registration is required for this event. For more information, contact the

March 1- Fall Creek Falls Thaw 15 km Run
This is a 15km run traversing one of the most beautiful areas in the eastern US. Entry
forms are available from the park. A special package rate has been set for those staying
for the Awards Banquet Saturday night. The price includes one night lodging in Fall
Creek Inn, the Banquet meal, and breakfast on Sunday morning. Contact Fall Creek Inn

March 15th & 16th -Waterfalls Weekend
We will offer both easy jaunts and strenuous hikes to look at some of the area’s
beautiful waterfalls. Please call the Nature Center at (423) 881-5708 for more details.

March 22 & 23 -Easter Weekend
Join us in the Village Area for an Easter egg hunt on Saturday. A morning sunrise
service will be offered at Millikans Overlook on Sunday Morning. For more information

March 29 & 30 -Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage
This is a very special weekend! We get to explore the park and see many wildflowers
and breathtaking views. A variety of hikes, workshops, driving tours, and slideshows

April 4-6 -Tennessee Spring Star Party
Join us at the Inn for a of night star watching telescope viewing and discussions on the
night sky. Telescopes will be offered or you may bring your own. For more information

May 3 & 4 -Lady Slipper Weekend
Cinderella’s shoe? No, but the beautiful orchids of Fall Creek are something to behold.
A variety of hikes will be offered to discover the Pink Lady Slippers, and more! For

Memorial Day- Labor Day- Summer Season at FCF
Softball, nature hikes, cave trips, canoe floats, campfires, horseback riding, and good
bluegrass music are just some of the weekly events that mark our summer season.
Interpretive and recreational events are scheduled seven days a week. Contact

June 6 & 7- Astronomy in the Parks
Discussions involving constellations, lunar lore, and the sun.  Telescope viewing will be

July 4- 4th of July Celebration
Dress up your car, your bike, or yourself, for the “traditional” parade, which ends in
Campground A. After watermelon and cake, we will move onto the field for events such
as sack races, the egg toss, the water balloon toss, and other family favorites. For

August 17- Triathlon
Push your limits in a 1.5km swim, a 40km bike ride, followed by a 10km run. For more info

August 25- Adventure Race
Challenge your endurance in a race that consists of running, mountain biking,

Sept. 5,6, & 7- Mountaineer Folk Festival
Handmade crafts, traditional mountain music, and demonstrations of pioneer skills are
just part of the fun. Country cooking, bluegrass music, and different exhibits round out

Oct. 18 & 19- Fall Colors Weekend
Join us on bicycle tours, guided hikes, and slideshows focusing on the autumn splendor

Oct. 25- Wild Foods Day
Field trips identifying edible wild plants and workshops on preparing wild meats and
breads are just part of the activities. The real treat comes in enjoying the wild feast.

Nov. 8 & 9- Backpacking Trip
Hike a 13-mile trek through some of the more remote portions of the park. Two day hike
with one overnight camp. This hike is for both novices and experienced backpackers.

Dec. 5,6, & 7- Christmas on the Mountain
A weekend of Yuletide fun and food, Christmas Carols, and gifts for the little ones.
Activities for children and adults alike include traditional Christmas decorating, tea
parties, and a two-day mountain craft show. Don’t be surprised if Saint Nick drops in. For
