| When you visit Fall Creek Falls, make sure to stop by the Indian Village Trading Post! We absolutely love this place and the people who run it. Since first visiting in the Spring of 2005, we have come to think of this as our home away from home at Fall Creek Falls. We regret that it took us so long to find it! The store and campground are owned and operated by Native Americans and some of the best, most genuine people that we have met in our travels. Indian Village Trading Post Click Here For A Sample Of Items For Sale At The Post! The selection of items in this store is truly amazing. From unique Native American items to gifts for kids, there is something for everyone here. We have picked up a great walking stick, incense, some beautiful pottery, and jewelry here. Hand-crafted items from renowned Native American artists are available, as are books, knives, clothing, blankets, Native American music, t-shirts, and lots of other things that are too numerous to mention here. The owners recently took a trip to the Indian Reservations in the American west, and brought back some incredible items from Native American artisans now for sale at the store. The Trading Post has firewood available for campers coming into the park. Camping We first came to these campsites on Memorial Day of 2005 when the park campgrounds were full. I remembered passing by in years past, so we went there as a last resort. What a pleasant surprise! Since that time, we have been back numerous times, and have really enjoyed staying at the Trading Post. The campground backs up to the park boundry, and is only about a 1/2 mile from the Nature Center. The Paw Paw trail is accessible from an old access road just across Highway 284. The campground is an unimproved tent camping area. There is no running water or electricity, which, for tent campers, means no nearby RVs! There is a rooster on the grounds, so be prepared for an early wake-up call. The restrooms at the store are available for use when the store is open, but when it is not open, a port-a-potty or outhouse must be used. The closest park restroom is only about 1/2 mile away. Each campsite has a fire pit, a stone picnic table (no benches, so bring some chairs), and room for 2 tents. Two horseshoe pits are available to campers. |

| This is Lobo, who lives at the Indian Village. Lobo came to the rescue one morning at about 1:00 when my wife heard a meowing "skunk" outside our tent. She had heard (who knows where?) that skunks make a meowing sound. Lobo came to the rescue and chased away the critter. (It was the Park Ranger's cat). |
